Dear Denise and Laurie:

The Facets publication is recognized as a unique student-featured
forum published each spring to provide a setting for the diverse
ideas of ACC students through creative expression in the written and visual arts.
The 2000/2001 Premier Issue of Facets won the publication the
American Scholastic Press Association First Place Award, the
Columbia Scholastic Press Association Silver Medalist Certificate
and the Community College Humanities Association Honorable Mention.
Without the guidance and enthusiasm you have shown your students,
these awards would not have been possible and a production of such
quality may not have been achieved. Denise and Laurie, it is for
these reasons and many more that it is my privilege to congratulate
you as the recipients of the “Lumberjack Award” for the month of
March 2004.
Symbolic of our deep appreciation of your specific contributions
to our success, you each will receive the following:
- A tree planted in the Circle of Honor here on campus this
spring;
- An official ACC mug;
- A designated parking spot in the area of your choice for the
month of March;
- And, an evening at the Holiday Inn (including room and dinner
for two).
Yes, Denise and Laurie, we salute, honor and thank you for your
personal and professional commitment. Alpena Community College is a
better institution because of your example and ongoing contributions
to our success.
Congratulations, Lumberjacks of the Month!
Sincerely,
Olin H. Joynton, President
