Hospice Advantage is looking for volunteers in Alcona, Iosco or Oscoda counties.  Volunteers may sit with patients, help with activities at facilities, and attend community events. 

The Alpena County Library seeks literacy tutors.  Training is provided.  All you need is a love of reading!

Tendercare Alpena is looking for someone to read to residents once/week in the early evening. 

Huron Humane Society has openings for volunteers who love our four-legged friends. 

The Department of Human Services needs a volunteer for a variety of office-related tasks. 

Turning Brook requests volunteers to assist with resident activities such as Scrabble, card games, and Wii gaming. 

Shelter, Inc. has a variety of openings for volunteers.  Whether you prefer office work, resident advocacy, skills instruction, transportation, or some other assistance, Shelter welcomes your assistance. 

The Baby Pantry assists parents during times of need by providing items such as formula, baby food, diapers, clothing and household items for babies and toddlers.  The Baby Pantry is open on 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  They are in need of volunteers.

Community Tech is a nonprofit organization that recycles computer components providing functional machines to consumers for a nominal fee.  They welcome volunteers, regardless of computer knowledge.  Anyone able to use a screwdriver can help! 

The Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary has many interesting and fun positions for volunteers. 

Alpena Habitat for Humanity seeks an office volunteer knowledgeable in computer use, particularly Microsoft Word.
