waivers are available for college district residents age 60 and over. Student
services include personal and academic counseling, veteran's assistance,

Function:
Alpena Regional Medical Center is a 146-bed,
non-profit, county-owned hospital. ARMC is a federally designated rural
regional referral center providing a wide range of acute care and ambulatory
services. The hospital provides current technology in diagnostic testing,
including MRI, Cardiac Catheterization, SPECT Imaging, CT scans, color flow
Doppler, pulmonary function testing, EMG, EEG, and more. Following is a list of

chemotherapy and radiation therapy services locally, in partnership with
University of Michigan Health System. Combines the convenience of hometown
treatment with the latest advances in cancer treatment from a nationally
recognized university.
CARDIAC REHABILITATION: Phone: (989) 356-7389. A progressive program
designed by cardiologists for patients who have had a heart attack or cardiac
surgery to restore the cardiac patient to normal life and activity.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION/OUTREACH: Phone: (989) 356-7337, 1-800-942-8601.
Offers education and health improvement programs throughout NE Michigan to
worksites, community groups, and individuals. These include CPR, First Aid,
Freedom From Smoking, Safe Sitter, and various health screenings.

DIALYSIS SERVICES: Phone: (989) 356-8006. Services include pre-dialysis
education, inpatient and outpatient hemodialysis, and a home peritoneal dialysis

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT: Phone: (989) 356-7252. Staffed 24 hours a day,
seven days a week by physicians and staff who specialize in emergency medicine.
HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER: Phone: (989) 356-8142 A user-friendly source of
information about health and medical topics to explain medical conditions, teach
about healthier lifestyle habits, assist with making informed health care
decisions.
HOME CARE SERVICES and PRIVATE DUTY SERVICES: Phone: (989) 356-8004,
(800) 968-4584. Provides comprehensive, home based health care to residents of
Alpena, Alcona, Iosco, Montmorency, Oscoda and Presque Isle Counties. Includes
skilled nursing; certified home health aides; medical social work; occupational,
physical and speech therapy; private duty; and home infusion (IV) therapy.
LIFELINE: Phone: (989) 356-7747 Home emergency response system providing
help 24 hours/day to socially isolated and physically frail persons. There is a
$35.00 hook-up fee and a $35.00 monthly charge. Help is just a push-button
away.
NUTRITION SERVICES: Phone: (989) 356-7281 Registered dieticians provide
nutrition care and education to patients and their families for a variety of
nutrition-related health concerns. Outpatient nutrition education available by
appointment.
PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC: Phone: (989) 356-8060. Staff includes an
interdisciplinary team that specializes in helping people cope with chronic
pain.

problems or concerns you may have with the treatment you receive at ARMC.

Educators and a Lactation Counselor provide programs on Pregnancy, Birth, &
Early Parenting; Sibling Classes; Single Expectant Mother Education;
Breastfeeding Education & Counseling; Baby Care; and other topics related to

link to 19 Orthopedic hospitals and 3 Burn Institutes. No charge for care and

have been burned and need immediate care, children needing plastic
reconstruction, or restorative surgery, rehabilitation, as a result of burns.
