SP-35 God or Science?

Date: Thursday, June 17

Time: 10:00a.m.-Noon          Room: CTR 106

Coordinator: Sally Goddard          Phone: 354-2759

The various books of the Bible were composed over more than a thousand years and not finally compiled until about 400 C.E. During this time we were thought to live in a tiered universe with God or gods in the heavens. We now know there are billions of stars and galaxies created over billions of years. Where does consciousness come from? Is it simply a byproduct of brain function? Is there any place left in the scenario for God? Christian faith is being pushed to answer these and other questions. Some Christians build a fortress around faith and deny validity of scientific progress. Can a person be a faithful Christian while still taking science seriously? This ALL presentation begins the journey of attempting to answer these questions.

Bob Case is a retired minister from the First Congregational United Church of Christ and a popular regular presenter for ALL.
