Students install and work on 18 poles. We have a construction site on campus and students work outside every day of class, regardless of the weather. We have two bucket trucks and a digger/derrick truck and each student becomes proficient at operating and driving this equipment.
Underground:
Students learn to operate a vibrating plow trencher and backhoe as well as shovels and rakes.
Classroom:
Students average fifteen hours a week inside the classroom learning electrical theory, transformer fundamentals, powerline components, power generation, transmission, and more.
