How Do I Apply?

Your application to this exciting future could not be easier. To apply, simply complete an application found one of the following ways:

  1. Print an application, complete, and mail it to:
    Admissions Office

  2. Go to ACC's website and fill out the Online Application for Admission.
  3. Call the admissions office at ACC at 989.358.7339.

What is it going to cost?

Attending Alpena Community College is very affordable when compared to other colleges. With numerous scholarships available as well as other sources of aid, most students find their costs very affordable. The following is an estimate of costs a student can expect to pay. These are only estimates and students should contact ACC for exact costs.

Student Housing

Though many students commute to ACC, on-campus housing is available. Townhouses on campus can accommodate students in 16 four-bedroom units. Each student has a private bedroom while sharing a kitchen, a living room, and 2 bathrooms with three other students. Call 989.354.2424 for information on housing and availability.

Student FAQs

Q How do I get started with the enrollment process at Alpena Community College?
A Our application for admission is available on-line or request an application by calling the admission office at 989.358.7339. There is no application fee.
Q What happens next?
A You will receive an acceptance letter. Your acceptance letter will acknowledge your program of study and assign your academic adviser. (An academic advisor is a fulltime faculty member from the program area you indicate on your application for admission.)
Q What is the role of an academic advisor?
A Your academic advisor will assist you in selecting appropriate courses for your intended academic program. Your academic advisor will need access to high school and any college transcripts as well as A.C.T. results and/or test results prior to the advising session.
Q When does registration begin?
A In March for the fall semester (August), November for the spring semester (January), April for summer (June) semester.
Q When should I register?
A As early as possible when all requirements in Question #4 have been met.
Q What are the advantages of early registration?
A You may fashion your schedule to meet your individual preference (i.e. morning classes, no evening classes, etc.). Additionally, you will assure your spot in limited enrollment classes.
