About ACC:
ACC Foundation: Methods of Giving

A FITTING TRIBUTE
Gifts can be given to the ACC Foundation in memory or honor of a
special occasion or a beloved family member or friend.
ACC
FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
You can make a college education more affordable for both
traditional and non-traditional students (those who have been out of
high school at least five years) by donating to the ACC Foundation
Scholarship Fund. Many scholarships are awarded each year from the
generous donations of individuals, service clubs, corporations, and
foundations. Donations of any amount are welcome.
ALUMNI WALK
"As you
make your mark on the world, leave your mark at ACC" is the
slogan for the Alumni Walk at the Library entrance to the Center
building. Alumni can purchase a brick for $50 with their name
and graduation date or other information. Bricks will be placed
annually. Bricks can be purchased as gifts or memorials.
MATCHING GIFT PROGRAM
If your employer is one of hundreds of companies across the nation
offering a matching gift program, you can double or triple your gift
to the ACC Foundation.
NAMED ENDOWMENT FUND
An endowment fund is a great opportunity for you to make a
long-lasting and far-reaching gift to the College. With a contribution
of at least $10,000, which can be paid over the course of five years,
an endowment fund can be established with its purpose and name
determined by you. The ACC Foundation invests your donation, and a
percentage of the interest earned is used for the purpose of the fund.
An endowment fund insures that the intention of your gift will remain
forever.
NON-CASH GIFTS
Valued and helpful gifts to the College
are not always in the form of cash. They can be items such
as cars, computer equipment, cameras or even plants and flowers
to enhance the surroundings.
PATHWAYS TO INNOVATION
ENDOWMENT FUND
We believe it’s important to offer our students the latest in
programs, courses, and technology. The Pathways to Innovation
Endowment Fund helps us achieve this goal by providing the resources
for current course improvements, research for new course offerings,
and increased faculty development. Donations are invested, and a
percentage of this fund provides a growing level of support each
year.
PLANNED GIFTS
You can make a future financial commitment to ACC by including the ACC
Foundation in your estate plans. See your financial advisor or contact
the ACC Foundation for details.
PROGRAM SUPPORT FUNDS
These funds give you an opportunity to support a specific degree or
certificate program at ACC. Your donation may be used to purchase
needed equipment and supplies or provide additional instructional
enhancement support for any program.
SCRAMBLE FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
The annual Scramble for Scholarships gives golf enthusiasts and others
a fun way to show their support for ACC. Money raised from entry fees
and hole sponsorships goes toward the ACC Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Giving Societies
Giving Society members will be recognized on the
donor wall located across from the library in the Center building.
ANNA AND JESSE BESSER LEGACY SOCIETY
With a planned gift to the ACC Foundation, you will become a
member of the Anna & Jesse Besser Legacy Society. This society is
named for Anna and Jesse Besser, the first and perhaps most
influential benefactors of Alpena Community College. This special
group of friends and graduates of the College have chosen to make a
future gift to the ACC Foundation through their estate plans. As part
of the Anna & Jesse Besser Legacy Society, you will receive named
recognition in our pulbications, invitations to select Alpena
Community College and Foundation events, and a special estate planning
newsletter.
THE ADVANCEMENT ALLIANCE
Your gift as a member of The Advancement Alliance insures the
consistent growth of the ACC Foundation Scholarship Fund. You can
become an Advancement Alliance member by making an annual commitment
for five years of at least $100 (Pacesetter), $250 (Leader), or $500
(Visionary).
THE PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE
The President’s Circle is similar to The Advancement Alliance in that
each member pledges to contribute financially for a five-year period.
Money raised, however, is applied to the Pathways to Innovation
Endowment Fund, which helps us continue the high level of quality and
excellence of education our students have come to expect at ACC. You
can become a member of The President’s Circle by making an annual
commitment for five years of at least $100 (Patron), $250 (Friend), or
$500 (Founder).
